Karina Bashir is an attorney and emerging thought leader in the psychedelic arena focused on ethics and best practices. Karina’s work is driven by her expertise in corporate governance best practices and ESG. Her ESG experience includes: emerging ESG regulatory, enforcement, and litigation issues, such as greenwashing disclosure and litigation, performing ESG risk assessments, assisting with ESG presentations advising clients on best practices, assisting with presentations to US investment managers on their implementation of SEC-compliant ESG programs, and she also served on Clifford Chance’s Global ESG Investigations Working Group. Karina’s practice also includes AML and FCPA compliance and internal investigations, as well as international human rights considerations for financial institutions.

Currently, Karina is an incoming research scholar at Berkeley Law and the Berkeley Center for the Science of Psychedelics. Specifically, she is working on a regulatory policy project focused on building public trust through advancing industry accountability and transparency by developing draft voluntary disclosure guidelines.

Karina is a member of the District of Columbia Bar Association, the American Health Law Association, and the Psychedelic Bar Association. She is a Fulbright Scholar and Gates Cambridge Scholar and received her JD from the University of California Berkeley School of Law.
